Dear friends and supporters of the Rio Grande Valley Wing Museum and AIR FIESTA,

As I’m sure most of you know, in September the Wing received notice that the City in general and the Airport in particular were no longer willing to support our museum or the airshow. In fact we have been instructed to vacate the premises no later than January 30, 2018. Since we don’t want to be where we’re not wanted, we have chosen to take the high road and go quietly. So, for the past 2½ months we have been cleaning up, boxing up and arranging for a new home. It looks as if we will meet the deadline and move our airplanes, artifacts, rolling stock, shop equipment, etc. to the Cameron County Airport next door to the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge, west of Laguna Vista.

Here is the problem. With the museum closing just as Winter Texan season arrives and cancelling AIR FIESTA (our primary revenue source), we have no incoming cash flow at all. We have big plans for developing a wonderful facility and we hope to secure grant money to fund the construction of it. But in the meantime, we still have bills to pay – insurance and maintenance on the airplanes, moving expenses, modifications at our new home and many other things.

If you can help us financially to get “over the hump” until we can get established and start generating revenue again, we would really appreciate it. Anything, large or small is greatly appreciated. (Donations are tax deductible.) Checks can be made to: RGV Wing-CAF and mailed to P. O. Box 8190, Brownsville, Texas 78526.

We have great and exciting plans for our new home. We will do our best to keep you posted on our progress.

Thanks in advance for your support!
